Carbon Footprint

As a father and leader of this team, I want to set an example to those that follow. According to the link below our team would need to plant four trees to offset the carbon footprint of this 1600Km journey in our Diesel powered vehicle. We propose to plant two trees in every country, marking the place with a photo witness. Hopefully our example will lead others to do the same.

Recycling

We are practicing members of our local Aberdeen Freecycle Group. In undertaking this journey we will be promoting this simple concept to the larger world. All our equipment were possible has been sourced through this group. All equipment and the vehicle will be passed on for Charity purposes in Mongolia.

It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free.

To quote the Mission Statement "Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resourses & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community"

Accommodation

To keep cost and expenses as low as possible, we are looking to be hosted by volunteers along the route. More information about this wonderful concept can be found through the following web links.
